8 Questions to Ask Before You Book Air Duct Cleaning in Boca Raton

Air duct cleaning is something most homeowners book once every few years, so it's hard to know what to ask. Prices online range widely, and two quotes for "duct cleaning" can describe very different jobs.

These eight questions help you compare any company, including us, so you know exactly what you're paying for before anyone starts working.

1. How many supply ducts does the price cover?

A supply duct is a vent that blows cool air into a room. Most South Florida homes have somewhere between 6 and 14. A clear quote tells you how many supply ducts are included and what each extra one costs.

Our answer: Small Home Deep Cleaning is $349 for up to 7 supply ducts. Standard Home Deep Cleaning is $499 for up to 10. Each additional duct is $50.

2. Is the return duct included, or just the grille?

The return is the larger grille that pulls air back to your AC. Washing the grille is quick. Cleaning the return duct behind it is real work, and it's where a lot of dust collects.

Our answer: both deep-cleaning packages include deep cleaning of 1 main return duct plus the return grille. Each additional return duct is $50.

3. What equipment cleans the inside of the duct?

Ask what tool goes inside the duct and what pulls the dust out. Good cleaning has two parts: something that loosens the dust on the duct walls, and strong suction that carries it out of the house.

4. Will I see and approve the total before work starts?

The best time to agree on a price is before the work begins, after someone has looked at your home.

Our answer: we give a free on-site estimate. We count the ducts with you, confirm the package, and give you the total. Anything extra is quoted first and done only with your approval.

5. What's included, and what's priced separately?

A good quote lists what's in the price and what costs extra, so nothing is a surprise on the day.

Our answer: both deep-cleaning packages include washing and reinstalling the vent covers, before-and-after photos where appropriate, and the Vital Oxide Sanitizing Treatment (a $149 value), applied where the product label allows. 6. Is dryer vent cleaning part of this visit?

Dryer vents are a separate line from your air ducts, and they collect lint fast. It's convenient to do both on one visit.

7. Will I get photos of the work?

Photos let you see what was in your ducts and what they look like after. Matching photos of the same vent before and after are the most useful.
